Tollgate, Ancaster - Living Space
This project was quite interesting as there are a number of elements behind the scene that made this reno a vast improvement to the living space.
Sound would pass thought the exterior walls of this house almost as if the walls didn’t exist. We used different sound proofing compounds, wraps and drywall on the exterior walls making the sound penetration virtually disappear.
We also used sound proofing compounds below the finished flooring to reduce the transfer of noise into the rooms below. The powder room was a simple modification but came with its challenges in removing the neo-angled wall behind the vanity as there were many services run through that location but the finished product turned out beautifully. The front entrance was a subtle but defiantly welcomed change, a great deal of time and energy was put into the layout of the tile design trying to be as pattern-less as possible without having too many thinly cut pieces against the wall, and the least amount of joints in the door ways, this floor turned out amazingly.
The front room was an amazing transformation from a drab/common room into an elegant rich space with crown moldings, large raised wall paneling and a really elegant engineered hardwood floor, topped with the perfect light fixture found by the home owner, this room has become one of my favorite “turn over’s”
