Jerseyville Rd - Kitchen
This project started off as an idea to face lift the tired old kitchen due to the granite counter tops and back splash were only a few years old and the clients didn’t want to lose that investment.
After having explained the difference in cost from re-facing or going new and how the percentage in value wasn’t substantial, the idea of pouring a large amount into re-facing the old kitchen and still being left with old cabinetry that doesn’t function properly, poor storage, very limited electrically and tight design, It was decided to remove the old and design new.
Although the pictures might not show a substantial difference some small modifications were made that had enormous impact on the flow and storage of the kitchen. Changes which allowed for a much larger fridge, a much larger prep area due to the coffee/toaster/counter top appliance area being increased which took them from around the sink and opened up the kitchen to a much more functional space.
Keeping with the farm house character while using some modern concepts took this 50’s kitchen into the current age.
